The Be for Birds logo is part of the public domain, available to anyone who wants to use it, as is the "recycle logo. It is a generic symbol, to be applied by manufacturers, birding organizations and educators wherever bird feeding is the subject. By placing it on packaging, advertising, printed materials and web sites, the National Bird-Feeding Society believes it will show the user's support and also help remind consumers of bird feeding's importance.
  • It depicts the important relationship between feeding and wild song birds and the preservation of birds and habitat
  • It raises public awareness about the value of backyard bird feeding
  • Created by Greg Gilpin of Oklahoma City for a design competition sponsored by the National Bird-Feeding society
