Horn, Director of Research & Development for the Wild Bird Centers of America and Director of the National Bird-Feeding Society has received a Fellowship appointment and funding from the Coleman Faculty Entrepreneurship Fellows Program. The Fellowship is awarded to a Millikin University faculty member outside of the business school who will promote entrepreneurship. Dr. Horn, an Associate Professor of Biology, will develop a course on entrepreneurship from the perspective of a scientist. His course will help both science and business students gain valuable experience by developing aspects of a scientific business venture under the auspices of the National Bird-Feeding Society. Dr. Horn’s new course will be developed in the fall of 2009 and taught in the spring of 2010. “It is an honor to be named a Coleman Faculty Entrepreneurship Fellow” said Dr. Horn. “With this fellowship, I am able to promote entrepreneurship to students and provide them with real-world opportunities to assist a scientific business venture.” The Wild Bird Centers of America is an industry-leading franchise system supporting more than 80 backyard bird-feeding and nature specialty retail stores throughout the United States and Canada.
